Parish Nurse Coordinators:
The Parish Nurse fills a special gap between the parish and the individual parishioner in time of need, especially when we have an elderly person transitioning from a hospital setting to living at home alone. The parish nurse can step in at this point to assist with advice , referrals etc. and bring a Catholic perspective and spiritual dimension to the various aspects of assistance the parishioner may require.
Over the past several years, our parish nurses have not only provided help on an individual basis, but have also run many programs on a parish level, such as their blood pressure screenings and flu clinics. They donated two transport chairs to the parish, one in church and one for the parish center. In addition, they offered a special CPR course for our Ushers!
